[Barf Alert] Pope Francis announces a 2022 synod on synodality

Vatican City, Mar 7, 2020 / 05:00 am (CNA).- The next ordinary Synod of Bishops will be a synod on synodality, the Vatican announced March 7.

In October 2022, bishops from around the world will meet in Rome to discuss the theme: “For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission.”

The concept of “synodality” has been a topic of frequent discussion by Pope Francis, particularly during the previous ordinary Synod of Bishops on young people, the faith, and vocational discernment in October 2018.

Synodality, as defined by the International Theological Commission in 2018, is “the action of the Spirit in the communion of the Body of Christ and in the missionary journey of the People of God.”

That is why our church founder, Martin Luther, formed our church. Not to mention indulgences, praying to Mary, and the pope of his day put out an edict for him to be murdered..........

We have various synods and women can be pastors at some. Some are very strict, some are very lenient, etc. You can take your pick. My older sister said she stopped going to church because women can’t be pastors. Well they can at many churches/denominations. So she will have to come up with a good excuse. LOL I still pray for her....

Her husband is evil. He tried to rape me. But now he he no legs. Both amputated. I think, even though I am a Christian, Karma got him.

MOST of our new members at our church, Lutheran, are converting from Catholicism. 25-50 per year lately.

There is only ONE denomination. There are several synods. Missouri, Wisconsin, Evangelical, etc. Like Baptists have Free Will and Southern Baptist. Comprende?

I would consider ELCA and NALC to be different denominations.
The members of the Missouri synod I know certainly believe the ELCA has went off the track.

That is why I was curious which “branch if you will’ the former Catholics were joining.

At least 70 % of professed catholics don’t follow church teaching. So the fact is they have already left before they shop around for a church they like, one that makes them comfortable.
Still if you was Jesus He can still be found physically in your local Catholic Church.

Well we are all the same denomination going back to when Martin Luther nailed his thesis to the door of the church. Groups branched off but they are still our brothers. I don’t think your opinions have any weight on the matter. I don’t think you have any authority over the Lutheran church. We still all use the same Nice Creed and Apostles creed. Our baptism and communion are still the same. Actually we have more in common with other protestant churches than with Catholic or Atheist.

Jesus said
I am the way, the truth, the light. Not once did He ever say to pray to his mother!

I didn’t say I have authority over the NALC or ELCA. Many Bible believing Christians would consider accepting or not accepting gay marriage and gay pastors a pretty clear dividing line between churches today. The members of the NALC church I attend seem to think so. Christ will be the ultimate judge whose churches are his, not you or I. We do, however, have the Bible and its message seems pretty clear.

At the end of the day this will end up just like all of the committees and working groups deciding which parishes to close/downsize/merge in our Diocese.

Patronize us by leading us through a dog-and-pony show to create the illusion that we actually have input. Then at the end of the day do what they’ve wanted to do all along.

Think of it as networking....Mary and the saints are perfect...We aren’t...We are flawed sinful.humans asking for favors from.God....How much nicer is it when His mother or His sainted children ask on your behalf..Remember the wedding at Cana....Jesus went out of His way to give Mary what she asked for...Even though it was not His time to perform miracles....
