It's not of a sort.
Natural Family Planning (NFP) is the general title for the scientific, natural and moral methods of family planning that can help married couples either achieve or postpone pregnancies.http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/marriage-and-family/natural-family-planning/what-is-nfp/index.cfm
It's a way to avoid, postpone, space, or achieve pregnancy by cooperation with the female fertility cycle.
I said "of a sort" because most people think Birth Control = Contraception, Sterilization, Abortion and Infanticide. It's associated with anti-natalism, and with these actions which are widely regarded as morally objectionable.
I was pointing out that Birth Control also might be seen as including periodic marital abstinence and breastfeeding. These practices regulate the number and spacing of births, but are not contraception. You will generally not find them mentioned in Birth Control literature.
For that matter, postponing intercourse until marriage, and postponing marriage until you're ready to raise a family, are also widespread forms of birth regulation, but are not contraception.
