I have never heard that Terri was given morphine or painkillers of any kind, except perhaps early on. Is that what you meant? By the time of Greer’s court, they would not allow anything including lip balm or ice chips. That Terri’s family had to watch her die like this is truly horrible. God bless Monsignor Ted.

What I remember reading was that Terri was given morphine suppositories. I don’t know at what point this happened. After Greer’s order to withdraw the g-tube, I can’t remember if he put the family under a gag order. Not sure on that point, but it would make sense as they just wanted everyone to go away and not hold a public vigil. After Terri was dead, I believe her brother revealed this in his despair that she was in pain and that’s why the morphine suppositories were used.
