Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
About three weeks ago, I had a big fight with the cable company. I hardly ever watch TV, except for "JEOPARDY!" and five of the so-called "educational" channels (NatGeo, American Heroes Channel, History, Science, and Smithsonian) because you KNOW how much I love history and Archaeology! However, in order to watch those five, I had to have a very high "tier" of service, which was costing more even than my car insurance (two vehicle!) every month. To add insult to injury, these "extra" channels were overrun with advertising, so they paid for themselves anyway. It was ridiculous. So I called the cable company and went round and round in circles until I ended up with JUST the local channels, half of which are in Spanish. I can't just "cut the cord" just yet because I need the Internet to FReep! I am exploring other venues right now, so no need to come to my rescue, but Today's Psalm is a wonderful word of encouragement to me. It tells us to keep our eyes from worthless things and to conduct our homes and business with integrity. It is a Psalm of David, and is the voice of a king promising to rule righteously. (see 2 Kings 2:2-4 and 2 Samuel 23:1-7)Of course, the only TRULY Righteous King is the SON of David, the Messiah, Who will be the Perfect King.
Psalm 101 is the first Psalm in yet another Song Book and the very group of ten is a chiastic structure:
Psalm 101 and 110 frame the group with songs of Kingship.
Psalm 102 and 109 are prayers of an Individual.
Psalm 103 and 108 Praise God for His great LOVE.
Psalm 104 and 107 concern God's Creative Power and His Mighty Deeds
Psalms 105 and 106 (center) are Redemptive History from God's Point of View.
The psalm is arranged as Seven Couplets. It is a celebration of God's Reign, as well as a promise to rule with integrity.
I don't have a "realm" except my own home, but this Psalm is an inspiration to me to rule my own little corner of the planet with integrity, keeping my eyes from worthless things. Bye Bye, TV! :-)
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)
God Bless America!

AMEN!
BTW. I haven’t watched TV for four years and haven’t missed it one iota. There’s plenty on the internet.
