Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)

Psalm 92

Psalm 92[a]

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.

1 It is good to praise the Lord
    and make music to your name, O Most High,
2 proclaiming your love in the morning
    and your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
    and the melody of the harp.

4 For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
5 How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!
6 Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,
7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.

8 But you, Lord, are forever exalted.

9 For surely your enemies, Lord,
    surely your enemies will perish;
    all evildoers will be scattered.
10 You have exalted my horn[b] like that of a wild ox;
    fine oils have been poured on me.
11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
    my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.

12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
    they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
    they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
    he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

Footnotes:

1. Psalm 92:1 In Hebrew texts 92:1-15 is numbered 92:2-16.
2. Psalm 92:10 Horn here symbolizes strength.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
We Come Into Your Presence
With Worship and Praise and Singing,
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The Most High;
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham.

Abba Father, We Are in Awe of Your Glory!
It is a Joy To Worship You,
To Sing Songs of Praise and Adoration!

Father, As We Pray For The Redemption and Prosperity of Your People,
We Ask That You Will Open the Eyes of the Blind,
And Unstop The Ears of the Deaf,
That They Might Hear Your Word,
And See Your Glory,
And Believe Upon You.
Even the enemies, Oh LORD.
The Lost and Angry children of Esau and Ishmael,
Whose eyes are so clouded by hatred and jealousy,
That they will believe any lie,
Commit any atrocity,
and Sink to any depth,
Rather than embrace You,
We beg You to Tear That demon from their hearts and cast it away,
That the chains may be broken and those people may be free.

We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
We Thank You For Your Beloved Israel,
For Preserving Your Holy Word,
The Foundation of Our Freedom and Liberty and Our Laws.
Arise, Oh LORD, Your Enemies be scattered!

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

I have a shed in my yard that needs replacement. The door is in the wrong direction, so I can't store my motorcycle in there, and the roof leaks. I went to a well-respected shed company to see what was available to me. Well, nothing can be done. I can't get a new shed, because, some time after the first shed was installed, an oak sapling that was barely noticable decided to GROW. Now it is nearly a hundred feet high and the trunk is over 3 feet in diameter. I don't own the land it is on, so I can't do a thing about it. It will be there forever, and there is no way to get a new shed into that space. Oh well. I stored my bike at my brother's house and put a tarp over the shed to keep my tools and lawn furniture dry.

Psalm 82 is designated for the "Sabbath Day". It is a Liturgical Prayer, meant to be shared with the Congregation of the Faithful. It is an awesome example of symmetry, and even has a central pivot line that stands alone. Here is the Structure:

Stanza 1. (Three Lines) A stanza extolling the rightness and goodness of praising the Lord with song, a variety of musical instruments, and rejoicing.

Stanza 2: (Four Lines) The voice changes to First Person Singular (I, Me, My) making it PERSONAL. While it is "Good to praise the Lord", This Stanza shifts the responsibility (and therefore, the JOY) to the Individual. A contrasting line describes the woeful state of those who don't have this "Relationship" with God.

Verse 8 (Turning Point, stands alone)

8 But you, Lord, are forever exalted.

I, Me, My, and even "They" are submerged in this one line "But YOU, LORD". How many seemingly hopeless situations can be turned around with this phrase?

Stanza 3 (Three Lines) This is the first part of two contrasting stanzas. After the Turning Point, Stanza 3 describes the fate of the wicked.

Stanza 4 (Four Lines) And here is the contrast, with a description of the future of the Righteous. Once again, the Psalmist uses metaphors from Nature, and since God created it all, it is most appropriate! That Tree will stand forever.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

God Bless America!

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name,
O Most High:

2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

8 But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.

9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
