Austrian Cardinal: Last Judgment Not About Sexual Orientation

Cdl. Christoph Schönborn defends concert with drag queen singer

VIENNA (ChurchMilitant.com) - An Austrian cardinal is standing by his decision to allow a drag queen to sing inside the cathedral at a large fundraising event.

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna is defending the blasphemous fundraiser concert, which he allowed to take place back in November at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.

More than just allowing it to happen, a program for the concert listed Cdl. Schönborn as delivering the opening remarks, and video footage shows him speaking at the event.

In an interview last month, Austrian newspaper Die Furche asked the cardinal about the "conservatives" criticizing him over the event. In response, Cdl. Schönborn sidestepped critics' concerns about the sexually devious messaging on display, focusing instead on the charity the money from the concert was going to:

This evening, it was specifically about AIDS treatment, which by far does not only affect homosexuals. The event in the cathedral was very focused on helping a Maltese [i.e. the Knights of Malta] hospice in South Africa, and those cared for there are primarily heterosexual victims of AIDS. But, of course, the topic of AIDS has also become a major issue due to homosexuality. ... I am very aware that the right way to deal with homosexuality is a big social issue and also a big Church issue. I strongly advocate not to look first at the question of sexual orientation, but at human quality. The first question is: how are you with other people? And that's the first question God asks us — not the only one, but the first. The great Gospel speech in Matthew does not ask about sexual orientation, but: "I was hungry and you gave me food, and I was naked and you clothed me.".......

Promiscuity isn’t a problem now?

Focusing one’s entire lifestyle around sexual fetishes isn’t a problem?

Celebrate sins.

Every human being has an “orientation” toward sin. It’s behavior that really matters.

Posing as a drag queen is much more than just suffering sexual disorientation.

It’s advertising and a promotion of sin.

Yeah. But there’s a big difference between natural sins of the flesh and unnatural sins of the flesh.

Possibly not about “orientation” but it most assuredly is about certain sexual *acts*...among many, many other things.

Adultery is sex outside of marriage between 1 man and 1 woman.

It's still prohibited by the 10 commandments.

I kinda feel sorry for you people...You have put your lifelong Catholic faith into an institution that clearly has outed itself and turned the corner...You must know that God is not involved in that decision...

The hierarchy; the magisterium of your religion; your cardinals and bishops...THEY control your priests and own your buldings/churches...You soon will have a choice to make...

The RCC is making it so there’s no reason for any other warped denominations to merge back with them.

The takeover of the Catholic Church should come as no surprise.

Its been in progress for decades and started as an organized effort over a hundred years ago.

Vatican II and the 1960s accelerated the process

Subversives aim for leadership and power positions where they can influence and shape Church policy and they took over many lower level positions and even some high level positions before Francis. In fact, they took over enough high level positions to retire Pope Benedict elect Francis in the first place

Pope Francis is the final assault on the Catholic Church and he is a clever and ruthless change agent. He has kept his sheep clothing on while he replaced the old guard in the Church power structure with other change agents and while he shaped public opinion and prepared Catholics for what would come with cleverly worded and deceptive twisting of the truth.

His stranglehold on power is now nearly complete and he is ruthlessly pushing his agenda of change more and more openly and criticizing those who oppose his agenda as bad people who oppose gods will.

I’m beginning to wonder if ANY of our religious leaders actually own a Bible.

Yes, given all the new cardinals he’s appointed, his successor will end up being just like him if not worse.

The catholic church is just the latest and perhaps biggest prize, in the leftists relentless march through the institutions.

They have done a masterful job of following Gramsci’s advice.
