I couldn’t see the fairness in this, it offended me and I sympathized with the 12 hour crew.

The aspect of Jesus' parables that has always amazed me is the emotions they stir up within me. Like Pastor Bill, I find myself sympathizing with one character or another of the parable but then it dawns on me that it is just a story. An illustration. It didn't really happen.

The emotions that Jesus' parables should stir up are those of gratitude and joy because the only real characters involved are God and myself (or yourself) and the point of the parables is always to convey to us how much God loves us.
