The ones I've known have been good folks, better than some other "ethnic" neighbors I've had I, too, had this initial impression when I first met my mormon (former) inlaws. Then I found out its all an act. The FIL has been cheating on the MIL for years, and she stands by him and acts as though he is just a great husband.
This is what happens when you fall for a con founded by a con artist.
