I wanted to give a quick update and thank ALL of you for your continuing prayers! We still don’t know exactly what is going on, but things don’t sound quite as dire as they did when they left here a couple days ago.
My daughter sent this a little while ago...
Okay so the transplant team just rounded. The plan is to look into both of his drains and see if there’s an obstruction anywhere causing bile to backup and his bilirubin numbers to be elevated. If that is the case, they will change them out & we should be out of here by the end of the week but while he’s down there and sedated, they will also do a liver biopsy to check for rejection. If he is rejecting we will be here a little longer while they treat it.

So the little guy will spend Christmas in the hospital. He’ll receive lots of attention at UPMC!I was amazed at the number of civic clubs and private donors who come forward to rally around the transplant families. The Ronald Mc Donald house is the greatest...they serve wonderful meals every day to family.
My granddaughter, her husband, and her inlaws were the recipients of this gracious hospitality for four months until the baby could go home.
Good luck to Jaxson and his parents. Hopefully it is just the tubes.
