No, the supper club was on the south side of Silver Lake, about 2-3 miles south of downtown Oconomowoc as the crow flies. I think one reason we ate there is because it was the closest restaurant to my grand-aunt’s house.
I can show you a pic of the house right off of Google:
It’s remarkable that suburbanization has not overtaken it, yet. An old farm house with the old barns still adjacent on the right. They used to have an old pony out in the front in the grassy area on the right in front of the one barn. I kinda wished they had the property on the lake across the street to go swimming.
My father grew up for a time (’40s) in a home near downtown. They were forced to move in 1949 because my father had severe asthma and the doctor “ordered” the family to relocate to the Southwest and a sanitarium/clinic in Silver City, New Mexico. That seemed to do the trick, since he’s still alive today 70 years later (and probably healthier than I am). 2-3 hour walks in the long driveway every morning, hot or cold. Push-ups, sit-ups, etc. ;-)
I love old farm houses like that. There is so much building going on there. Seems to be a thriving area. Went shopping downtown with auntie a few times. Nice town.
