I guess the author of this stupid screed has no idea of what a Rhetorical Question is.
Of course Mary knew. The message is for the listener.
Frankly I love the song.
The author needs to attack Jimgle Bells.
The reaction would be best understood by the author likely being a Catholic worshiper.
In the light of which questions that could be asked in the song might be,
Mary, did you know,
Many will pray to you, reciting a sacred Psalter?
Mary, did you know,
That they will plead to you, please save each son and daughter?
Mary, did you know,
That they will ascribe to you things quite very new?
That attributes unique to God almighty,
will soon be said of you?
Mary, did you know,
they will say "all but unlimited power" is in thy hand?
And so to their Mary will look the eyes of many a man?
Mary did you know,
That they will say demons are fearful of your might rod;
And that your requests are as commands even to almighty God?
Mary, did you know,
it will be said, by far more than just a few;
That as Queen of Heaven all grace is dispensed thru you?
And that you suffered for our sins, and was raised bodily,
that salvation is more quickly obtained by calling on thee?
No, Mary you do not know
All this exalting of a mortal far above that which is written;
But whom you will reprove as part of the judgment in Heaven,
For directing men to look to a demigoddess savior of man,
Rather than directly to your creator yet child, the Great I Am.
