Redistribution of Wealth so they can then give it to the Church
This guy is living in a world that no longer exists; like the American hierarchy, he doesn’t realize that the charitable functions served by the Church in centuries past have for the most part been assumed by the state. They never realized the state was intent on displacing them from their roles in charity, healthcare, education, etc. - and now they’ve become just obstacles to state control of those functions. The state has successfully dismantled the Church’s functions in those aspects, with the complicity of the Church leadership, and now the Church has little role in the larger secular world; they took their pieces of silver, and put themselves out of business by doing so.
The Church infrastructure is rapidly contracting in the West due to this dynamic.
But fortunately, self-sacrificing climate-alarmed guys are shielding vulnerable poor people by kindly buying up doomed, low-lying island/coastal properties (Obama=$15m waterfront mansion in Martha's Vineyard; Gore =$8.9m ocean-view villa in Montecito, CA; DiCaprio a couple of Caribbean islands!) to absorb the *inevitable* losses caused by the rising seas.
