Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art in Heaven,
How Blessed and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
We Enter Your Gates With Thanksgiving
and Your Courts With Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are God,
You Alone Are The Most High!
Ancient of Days and Rock of All Ages,
The Lord of Hosts,
LORD, Our Banner,
Our Righteousness,
Our Provider and Our Healer,
You are Our Creator
and we are the Sheep of Your Pasture.

We Thank You for Your Holy Word,
and For Your Jewish People
through Whom You have Chosen to give us Your Word,
Your Law,
Your Promise,
and Your Messiah!

LORD, we ask forgiveness for the ugly and evil sin of antisemitism.
We ask that You guide the Leaders of both the USA and Israel,
so that they would make decisions that are Righteous and According to Your Will.
Confound and Discredit our enemies in the eyes of the world.

Dear Father, Thank You So Much For Your Word that comforts us,
and gives us a glimpse into Your heart!

For the Sake of Your Anointed,
and For The Sake of Your Name,
We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
According to Your Word,
and Your Promise.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The hot, dusty, fly-infested "cafe" at the dig at Jericho had taken its toll on my husband's digestive system, and he did not want to venture forth from our hotel room. So, since the Central Bus Station was right around the corner, I spent my first day in Jerusalem alone, exploring the Old City. The bus left me at the Jaffa Gate, and I immediately scrambled up the narrow stone steps to the ramparts in the wall. Aha! There was a ledge that went all the way around! What a great way to see Jerusalem, from up there on the wall. I was wearing sturdy shoes and loved to walk so I set out.

What a treat! The views were magnificent. The wall continued around the City, and I saw things from a vantage point that less adventurous tourists were sure to miss. The Kidron Valley, the Mount of Olives, the Temple Mount...It was positively Glorious!

From the Damascus Gate I looked down upon a noisy little bus station directly outside the gate. The bus yard was loud, dirty, boring, and smelly, but that wasn't what caught my attention. Rising up just beyond the bus station was a white cliff face pockmarked with caves. The caves made a pattern that looked like a human skull. Could this have been the "Place of the Skull (Calvary)" described in the New Testament? Wow. Anyway, I was more than halfway around and on my way back to my starting point when I was confronted by a blocked passage with a big placard in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Basically it said that I could not proceed on the path unless I was a Muslim. Evidently it was the portion of the wall around the Temple Mount.

So I turned around and walked all the way back and got the astounding views again. Little did I know that there is a Psalm that tells me to do the very hike that I chose that day. It was 35 years ago and I still can see it in my head. It was a pivotal moment in my life and I will never forget it.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

God Bless America!
