In less than 24 hours rapper Kanye Wests Jesus Is King Sunday Service concert at Joel Osteens Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, has been viewed more than a million times on just Facebook alone as the event continues to draw high praise.
I know some are concerned about if @kanyewest relationship with Christ is real or authentic but maybe you should be asking yourself the SAME questions. I saw people with my own eyes commit themselves to Christ and some are still more concerned about Kanye. Thats whack, tweeted Fox News host and political analyst Lawrence B. Jones III on the event.
More than one million people tuned into the Facebook Live broadcast.

Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse also told Fox News Monday morning that he is "thrilled at what's happened" in the life of the rapper who declared at the event that he is now in service to God.
"I always like it when God works in a person's life and changes them. And Kanye's is a life that's been changed by the power of Almighty God and it was his faith in Jesus Christ, Graham said.
"Who would've thought that he would've been in a church? And who would've thought a year or two ago, that God would be using him to touch another generation of young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ?"
Graham said he prays "God will keep his hand" on Kanye because "there's going to be a lot of people that want to use him and manipulate him."
"I hope he just stays focused on what he feels God has called him to do now for the rest of his life, Graham said. So I'm proud of him. I pray for him. I hope he will be very successful, and he's going around to churches doing this, I just say more power to him!
West told Osteen during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service that he plans to evangelize the youth
It’s interesting to note, that the Left isn’t completely distancing from Kanye, like I would have expected.
How much money did it make for Osteen? That’s all he cares about.
I’m proud of Kanye.
I know he is sincere just by looking at his face as he speaks of Jesus.
I saw Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian and their daughter being introduced at the Service after Kanye’s testimony. She was actually dressed modestly.
I am quite curious as to what this turn of events would do to the Kardashian reality show on TV ( especially with Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner in it ).
I hope this is a pathway to true faith for many.
Me, too.
That’s what I’m keeping my eye on to know if this is legit or not. I’ll give Kanye the benefit of the doubt for now. If he is sincere, this could be a watershed moment.
I don’t know about you but something about this makes me uneasy. Calling people to the Lord is a wonderful thing but something about this..well I just don’t know.
RE: How much money did it make for Osteen? Thats all he cares about.
From the Apostle Paul:
“15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,” (PHILIPPIANS 1:15-18)
Osteens church was not the first church his Sunday events were held. He was in Detroit a few weeks ago to much less fanfare and at a prison as well. I believe he is in Canada next week. I am not a fan of Joel Osteen but I thank God that his church was available for such an event. Kanye is reaching a generation that is in desperate need of Jesus as older generations have failed to reach them.
RE: I dont know about you but something about this makes me uneasy.
While I can understand the sentiment, all I can say is this is a man to be prayed for and his good work encouraged and supported, not mocked.
Let’s just pray that this is not a one off emotional thing, but will have staying power.
Amen to that.
I’m not talking about Kanye, good for him. I’m talking about Osteen and his ‘prosperity gospel’. Yeah, prosperity for him.
Very interesting turn. Still unsure if I like The Kardashians and was not a fan of Kanye. But fascinating twist.
I am just pondering whether all the prayers for our President are working in unexpected ways. God has a way of doing the unexpected. Kanye is a famous man, a black man, and a Donald Trump supporter. Is this a sign from God and his Son, Jesus Christ, that our prayers are being answered?
Two consequences of prayer could be both the awakening to Christ within the inner city black community, plus the moving of the black vote toward a more conservative, God-fearing political view. Just a thought.
Who would have or could have imagined such a thing happening?
Read what Paul says in Philipians 1:15-18.
Kim is Armenian Orthodox and has had her children baptized into the church while in Armenia.
Precisely! Thank you for the reference.
