Where is “Sola Scriptura” in the Bible?

OK, here's an offer.

You provide an accurate definition of what the term "sola scriptura" means, and I will happily show you where it is found in Scripture.

As a bonus, you can in turn show me where in Scripture to find the assumption of mary.

So why do you continue to pretend to be a practicing Catholic?

😂

Don’t confess you sins to me. I am not a Catholic priest.

Pope Socialista speaks! I am so saddened that the Catholic Church is controlled by a heretic that worships gaia instead of the Christian GOD!

“America used to be one of the Earth’s worst offenders, but we got better.”

Total BS. Humans, natural fauna on this planet, using pieces of the planet for tools, cannot “hurt” the planet.

When I first read this Podesta email about wanting a Catholic Spring, I thought they would never make inroads into the Catholic Church.

Now we have pope Francis

Okay. Believe what you want to believe; that’s fine with me.

But I believe we have SuperFund site here in the town I live in.

And I’m not the only one who remembers the world “before we got better” as “my childhood”.

It’s definitely better now ... and now the all powerful EPA has become more burden than blessing.

The government can ruin a river in a day and seemingly without personal consequence.

They’ve done it. I’ve seen them.

We created Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this. But I think it lacks the leadership to do so now. Likewise Catholics United. Like most Spring movements, I think this one will have to be bottom up. I’ll discuss with Tara. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend is the other person to consult. “...Is it OK to describe a pope as a nitwit? Just askin’...”
Yeah, if ya want, but “heretic” would be a much better choice.

In the US there was opposition to the what to be Tyrant. What opposition is there against this pope?

He is not fit to be pope. He is a politician, not a religious leader.

‘I missed the reference to where this exists in the Bible. Maybe the pope (yes, small p) can point it out for us.”

The only place that this pope can point it out to us about out sin against the enviroment is in Satan’s bible.

RE: why are the world’s Catholics silent?

They’re not. A few cardinals, several Bishops and quite a few lay persons have responded, kindly but forcefully. Some of the organizations that have responded include Church Militant, Taylor Marshall, EWTN, and the Saint Boniface Society. It isn’t easy to depose a pope, but there is a growing movement. Best of all, just holding money from Vatican’s Papal Foundation, has been very helpful, so far, in curbing Francis’ worldly ambitions.

It certainly appears as if he’s working on behalf of very bad influences. Guess he’s counting on many liberals running to the church after current members flee and close their wallets.

There is a moral obligation to wisely steward the Earth for the poor and for future generations. Wanton deliberate failure to do so is a sin, and that's a fact attested to in both Scripture and the Ordinary Magisterium. We ae but tenants and stewards on God's property, and he does not want the tenants to trash the place.

It does have legitimate theological and moral dimensions, which the Church must legitimately reflect on and teach.

But Pope Francis has a long history of "canonizing" specific public policies preferences which are frankly outside of his competence. Some of the proposals are questionable, in fact dangerous, such so-called Sustainable Development Goals. Google Vatican, Hans Joachim Schellnhuber).

Pope Francis has a terrible record of dogmatizing everything----- except for dogma.

The outright pagan, animist, Hoochie-mama nonsense coming from the Vatican would be Tom-Wolfe-worthy satire, hilarious --- if it weren't horrifying. Almost too horrible to be anything but a nightmare from which we pray to be awakened.

Where is “Sola Scriptura” in the Bible?

From cover to cover.

The early ekklesia put together, under God's direction, the books of the Bible.

They did not include any of the books from which Rome draws many of its dogmas.

When Rome finally got around to declaring their canon at Trent they did not include any of the books so many of their dogmas come from.

You do realize what the early church consisted of...and still does....right?

The believers in Christ, and only Christ.

And notice Paul is writing to Timothy.

I notice also you are citing Scripture. Sola Scriptura for the win!

As a lay Roman Catholic, by what authority do you, or any other Roman Catholic have to make this determination?
