The Society of Saint Pius X (Latin: Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Pii X...), also known as the SSPX, or the FSSPX, is an international priestly fraternity founded in 1970 by Marcel Lefebvre, the French archbishop of the titular see of Synnada in Phrygia.
The Society, named after the anti-modernist Pope Pius X, is known for rejecting many of the ecclesiastical reforms both influenced or institutionalized by the Second Vatican Council, and maintaining the Tridentine Mass among its followers. The present superior general of the Society is Father Davide Pagliarani, succeeding Bishop Bernard Fellay. (from Wiki)
