On all sides the tallest and the bravest died first. Hard on the gene pool for succeeding generations.
I WAS making a point. Napoleon deliberately put his TALLEST soldiers in front to intimidate. I can't think of another army who used THAT particular tactic. NOT all countries deliberately put their TALLEST men on the first line defense.

Most generals, I imagine put their BEST fighters first...tall OR short. Height doesn't have THAT much to do with soldiering.
