I’d feel better about this author if at the conclusion the writer didn’t say “and bestow upon them the riches of Christ [tradition]...”

Tradition? He sounds like the musings of pope Frank himself where Jesus, the Bible and the Word of God are absent.

The author here is speaking of Sacred Tradition in the Catholic sense, which is not the works of man, but everything which has been handed down to us by the Apostles. Sacred Scripture itself is encompassed by "Tradition" in this sense, and it is "closed" (no new paradigms here, folks) because Public Revelation ended, ca. 100 AD, with the death of the last Apostle.

This is also the sense of the word as used by St. Paul.

A tagline to the wise is sufficient!
