It was a Chief Petty Officer (E-7) that sent the initial email, not a Commissioned Officer.

I noticed that as well, which leaves me unsure whether the Chief or the boneheads at that website are more deserving of mockery. Both, I guess.

I do have to say that as a Navy grad myself, the whole idea of a Chief sending out a mass communication to the entire Brigade of Midshipmen is weird as hell on it's own.
