BERLIN - About 800 people have protested gender inequality in the Catholic Church by forming a human chain around Germany’s Cologne Cathedral.

German news agency dpa reported that many of the protesters were women from an activist group called Maria 2.0.

The group is pushing for the Catholic Church in Germany to allow women to have leadership roles within the church hierarchy.

Perfect timing: coming up just before the renegade German Bishops’ “Synodal Way”.

I wouldn’t be suprised if the German bishops are behind this protest, nor would I be surprised if Bergoglio is behind the German bishops.

The German liberals might as well have their fun now. Because when the Muslims take control, it will all be over but the crying. (Demographics is destiny. And that goes for France as well.)

That area of Cologne is in the area where the muslims are busiest rioting and sexually assaulting German women. The muslims would not be amused at all.

You brought up a great point during your fun. The Catholic church has been around for a little over 600 years before islam. Seems kind of inconsistent that women can be in control of a church in either, with their gender, but, at least, the women can pray with the men in church side by side in the Catholic church and their men don’t circumcise them or beat and kill them for not performing as the men want in public. Where is the thinking here?

The group is pushing for the Catholic Church in Germany to allow women to have leadership roles within the church hierarchy.

They already do. The Nun Superior isn't a man, that's for sure. And there's plenty of laity positions of power open to both sexes as well!

If the Church turned around tomorrow and granted everything on these people’s wish list, would they be in the pews next Sunday, singing hymns and putting money in the collection? I somehow doubt it. They don’t really want to be in Church, they just want to complain about Church.

The Cologne Cathedral has seen a lot in it's long history. It took quite some time to build, it survived the Reformation, it's wasn't damaged during the bombings of WW2, not too much anyway. It survived the war, that's for sure. One of the most compelling events it witnessed was what was considered ''the last tank battle of WW2''. You can find it You Tube under "Tank Duel At The Cologne Cathedral''. One of the rare instances of tank v. tank combat.
