Fleming said that in setting the process in motion, he had been inspired by Pope Francis, who said in his message for the 2016 World Communications Day that "listening
means being able to share questions and doubts, to journey side by side, to banish all claims to absolute power and to put our abilities and gifts at the service of the common good."
...
In 2009, Bp. Fleming and the Killala Council of Priests decided that no provision should be made for the celebration of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form.
The Ecclesia Dei Commission, under Cdl. Darío Castrillón Hoyos, wrote to Bp. Fleming insisting that the restriction was forbidden under Church law since Pope Benedict had made universal provision for the availability of the Latin Mass.

an analysis of clergy numbers indicated that the 22 parishes of the diocese would be served by three to six priests by 2037.
Those numbers are stark and unrelenting, and are driving much of this. The Church cannot survive a Parishoner/Priest ratio that is this far out of whack.

yup, at mass this last sunday, our priest was late for mass, during the course of the mass he informed us that if there was ever an issue where the priest couldnt make it to the church, there was always plenty of the blessed eucharist to go around, and there are always plans in place so that a deacon could handle the communion...and that there are no issues with someone missing mass, just because a priest didnt show up. everyone would be ‘credited’ for being at mass.

The 300-strong diocesan assembly, which included delegates from the 22 parishes, voted on a range of issues...
Wow, forget about the Catholic Church being a democracy. They've turned it into a republic!

Maybe they should put the Ten Commandments up to a vote too. I imagine a few of them might be dropped.

I am more than disgusted with these renegade prideful Bishops. The Pope will be silent on them because they are ushering in what he wants. (JMHO)
Too many so called Catholics are no more than cultists.

"Listening"...... how many times have we heard that tired cliche over the last 5 decades? A shepherd who "listens" is one who's lost the faith and is directionless. Did St. Paul "listen" to the folks at Corinth or Ephesus?
A true shepherd leads. He preaches the faith and the sheep listen. That's how it's supposed to be. These wretched "listening" exercises produce nothing except confusion, disaffection and a dissipation of the faith.

Eve listened to the devil in the Garden.
A lot of good it did for her; and for us.

Is this bishop a relative of Greta Thunberg, the Swedish girl who is the victim of the leftist climate activists? They have the same demented look.
I fear that both Bishop Fleming and Ms. Thunberg are demonically influenced

And the majority look over 65. Are the young people not interested in these politicized topics, not involved generally, or not going to church at all?
