I am really conflicted about prayers of intercession. Its hard enough to ask God for his guidance for me to do his will, but to tell God who needs what is just perplexing. If someone has an understanding of intercession and why God needs me to tell him about this lady’s problem as though he won’t take care of her without my meddling, please let me know.

prayer changes us not God. It is for our benefit we pray for each other and carry each other’s burdens. May God provide peace for this family in their time of crisis.

You do know you don’t have to post on this thread if you don’t agree with what was requested?

I know during hard times I have had, it made me feel better to know there were people praying for me and my family or for those that didn’t believe in prayer just knowing they were thinking of us in a time of our need.

I feel like it did give me more strength to deal with what I had to deal with. It is a help for some people so does it matter why it helps? If it doesn’t make sense to you that is fine but why post that?

There is a deep mystery about the unseen, when I come across someone that is struggling with a difficult situation, I am reminded of difficult times I have faced, sometimes all on my own and how comforting it would have been to know that someone was concerned enough to say a short prayer for me. God knows our struggles as he endured the cross for us and we are united with Him as we pray for each other.

Here’s a site with Scripture about praying one for another:

(You can use any version of the Bible you want. This site just happens to use the King James Version)

God does know what’s going on, obviously, but we pray to thank Him and praise Him for what He is doing for those needing help.

anton, for a Christian, God is our Father. He is a good Father. Like any good father, He loves to hear from His children, to hear their cares, their worries, their praise, and all. Prayer is one of our connections to Him.
