Thanks for the input, obviously I am not being clear enough in what I am saying...
1) I am saying that the only requirement for salvation is the we believe.
2 ) I am making the point that biblically “to believe” is not a momentary assent, it is an ongoing commitment, a loyal steadfastness...
3) I am also saying that Unbelief is the primary danger... not any particular sin a believer may commit, or a sin of omission... Jesus died for all of our sins
4) The only question is, “do you go on believing?”
5) I am also raising the issue of sin in the believer’s life, and the relationship of persistent sin too unbelief...
I have more to share and will trynto be clearer, but this feedback helps...
That's our part...What about Jesus' part???
Jesus came to live within us...
He sealed his Holy Spirit in us...
He performed a Spiritual operation where our soul/spirit (where there is no sin imputed) was cut away from our body/flesh ( which is corrupted and exceedingly sinful) to make us two of one man/woman...
Once you belong to Jesus you are a part of the family, even if you're the red-headed step child...
Getting saved is not a contract that can be broken...It's a spiritual event that lasts for eternity...He'll drag you home, kickin' and screamin' if he has to...
In my experience those who lose faith and go back to the world do not stop believing ON Jesus...You still remember the day you got saved but sometimes things happen and for whatever reason, the world gets in the way...Regardless of what Jesus says, sometimes you think he isn't helping or won't help you out of your dilemma and you go where things make your flesh feel better (physically or emotionally)...
But I'm here to tell ya, when you hit the bottom and look up, and you can see your Father a far way of, with his arms raised and you can just make out that voice that is saying, 'Come Home', that's the sweetest sound you will ever hear...Sweeter than when you first believed...
Losing faith does not mean losing belief...I for one don't accept the notion that you can lose belief once you've been saved...
