Kanye West sounded a lot like a preacher testifying about Jesus during his most recent Sunday service held in an Atlanta, Ga., megachurch.
Regular attendees at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant pastors, were treated Sunday morning to a 10-minute sermon by the hip-hop artist, FOX 5 reported. Among the hundreds of worshippers were rappers T.I., Chris Tucker and 2 Chainz.
"Jesus, let's be specific," West shared, starting off singing and then speaking. "Because the road to hell is paved with, 'Oh, I'm just a good person.'"
The audience cheered as the "Jesus Walks" rapper sang "use me, Lord," along with a 600-person choir, and dropped a line about following Jesus with everything.
"You sent your son to die for us and all you ask is for radical obedience to you," West said, referring to God the Father. "You're not asking us to do the least. You know how people are like, 'At least I...,' how are we gonna do the least when he did the most?"
The 42-year-old West, who has publicly struggled with mental health, then testified.
"I've seen him work miracles in my life," West said. "You know the devil presents so many flashy, shiny objects. I've seen everything that the devil could've showed you via TV, videos, car dealerships, jewelry, houses, and I'll tell you..." He added, singing: "Nothin' beats God...and a sound mind."
Back into preacher mode, he declared: "Let's not be concerned with the opinions of men at all. Only the opinion of God. I know we say this is the culture or that is the culture. To be radically in service to Christ is the only culture that I want to know about."
West thanked God for the opportunity to be in Atlanta, where he was born

Good on you, Kanye. Glad to see it!
Lucky one of the attendees didn’t pop a cap in his azz.
RE: Good on you, Kanye. Glad to see it!
I like this version of Kanye. But will it last?
Will the Kardashians follow him, or will he follow the Kardashians?
Sounds like a solid Christian witness from start to finish. Good job Kanye - I’ll pray that God help you withstand the attacks from Satan, which almost certainly will come.

Well said......
This is exactly what we need more of especially the fight over gun control vs the real problem, as I believe, what has happened to peoples values both moral and religious.
Also, the Kardashians are Christian and talk about their faith often. I know people here dont like them but they are believers. Kim is super supportive of Kanyes church and, again, isnt it refreshing hes doing this? Our country needs it.
I’d have to know exactly what he is preaching to know if it is a good message.
There are too many attempts to corrupt Christianity
*Kanye West ping*
Agreed. I know people think I’m nuts, but I really do think he will make a run for the presidency in 2024, and by that time anyone NOT a celebrity will have trouble winning.
And that includes Pence.
Would not having numerous baby-momma’s and not stealing stuff fit into that category?
There is a reason it’s a stereotype.
A family member of mine had a store in a mall in an affluent neighborhood. 10% of the customers were black, 90% of her shoplifting was done by them.
She had to stop taking checks because every time she took one from a black person it bounced. EVERY TIME.
She spent time in courts, but even when she won they had no money to pay.
Kim was on LIVE with Kelly & Ryan on Monday. I was in my La-Z-Boy when my bride had it on. As an old redneck country boy, I must say I thought Kim with her 4 children to Kanye, was as likeable and sensible as anybody I’ve seen on TV in a while. I think she might have joined Kanye in his turn to Jesus. I pray that she has; and I pray that his/their testimony for Christ continues to grow, spread and deepen.
“the real problem, as I believe, what has happened to peoples values both moral and religious.”
You are SO right, and it’s not really “mental” as conservatives are trying to say. Yes, there are mental problems, but much of this rampant violence I have no doubt stems from moral problems. The root as I see it is Dr. Spock - go ahead, everyone do what they want and what they “feel”. Why then would it be bad to “feel” like shooting up dozens of people? Libs sure try to play that game of “it’s HIS belief/feeling/way”; turn it on them when it gets out of hand and bites them all in the butt.
Yes, but OTOH, a) at least (LOL) he’s doing SOMETHING publicly and b) don’t you think you might not exactly know what is “good” anyway?
Ben Franklin had a quote to that effect, when adopting the Constitution. Might we all just doubt our own rightness a little, and have faith that the others with us are doing their best. (So that yes, you can take the plunge without 100% certainty.)
Uh, yeah... Ok, here y'go Kanye...
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor
I guess it doesn’t matter because coming to Jesus is a color-blind thing - but I’m seeing a lot of white people in the background of the photograph.
Is this a multi-racial church or was it possible some attended just to see if Kanye was gonna blow up and start talking s**t?
Anyone?
I really like Kanye.
