Did the Apostle Paul really say women can never be pastors?

Sounds like Satan in the garden when he asked Eve, "And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" (Gen 3:1b).

Women cannot be in authority over men, but must be silent in the churches (congregations).

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (1 Timothy 2:11-13)

These verses grate against our egalitarian mindset. But there they are in black and white. Women are to be silent in the churches. Women are not to teach. Woman are not to be in authority over men. Very hard to be a "pastor" under such conditions.

Yes, they do. They reek of a patriarchal society,
which we are on our way to balancing out. Something
will have to give.
