(FTR I am Eastern Orthodox and we tend to roll our eyes at the whole “infallibility” claim.)

Many catholics and non-catholics alike vastly inflate the limited scope of papal infallibility to cover everything from ambiguous and misleading encyclical letters to corrupt pastoral councils (i.e. VC II).
