Acceptance of Christ’s gift freely offered and belief in what He says is Life itself. Refusing to accept His completed work on the cross and believing His sufficiency to see you through is denigrating His sacrifice.

Who's refusing Christ's completed work?

Don't we need to do a little work also?

Or all you just too lazy to do so?

Anyone who adds to what Christ has done.

Nope.

Or all you just too lazy to do so?

It's not a matter of laziness.

It's a matter of we have a debt we cannot pay because the wages of sin is death and we cannot pay that. Only Jesus could, so nothing we can to, will do, or have ever done, can pay that debt.

When you add anything to Christ’s work for our salvation you are refusing His free gift and trying to earn it instead. That is a slap in the face to our Savior and futile as well as we can add nothing to why He has done for us.

Those of us that know that are not lazy. We understand our sinfulness and Christ’s sufficiency. Stop trying to earn what you never can. Give up and accept the free gift of salvation. That is where true freedom lies.
