You got that right, piasa.

Even their Wikipedia entry can't hide the ugliness that resides within that externally beautiful church.

This latest episode of pushing the envelope, so to speak, may not bring any kind of change to Riverside Church's underlying social doctrine but it should be a warning for those who are attracted to a church by its appearance, not knowing or caring what is taught within its walls.

Chances are, the next pastor will be no less radical than any of those occupying the pulpit since the eminent Harry Emerson Fosdick did almost 90 years ago.

Harry Emerson Fosdick advocated appeasement of Hitler, as many leftists/progressives did before Hitler and Stalin’s pact ended.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer visited Riverside in the thirties and was greatly displeased as they preached social justice but not the Gospel. He ended up spending most of his visit to the US teaching Sunday school at a black Abyssinian church in Harlem.
