Jesus would take the individuals into his own house and not force anyone to take them.

So how many liberals are taking in all the illegals?

RE: Cloward-Piven

So, those Bible verses quoted in the article are actually Cloward-Piven verses as it relates to Israel?

One night an Angle of the Lord killed 185,000 soldiers outside the gate of Jerusalem. There are many militants and criminals and terrorists “at the gate” so how do you sort them out?

The Bible verses are directives to individuals, not to government actions.

Governments are to protect individuals where individuals actions will not.

Christians are to give charity at home and to other Christians before they give to non-Christians.

Nothing in these verses indicates wholesale acceptance of any immigrants anytime.

These are not refugees. These are economic opportunist. The jungles of Panama are safer than the jungles of Los Angeles.

Very interesting. The more education people have the less they see the US has a ‘responsibility’ to take in all the Little Brown Brothers. It seems liberal brainwashing is less effective than it is thought to be.

This dude is a sepf righteous whack job, and converting calls of charity, as quoted in the bible, to some odd pathetic argument that reason and laws should be ignored.

There cant be a “Come one, Come all” policy, unless yoir strategy is leech your own well being and wealth to others whi have not earned their share of the workday and provided for them selves...

Those verses use “resident alien” aka legal immigrants who are to be accorded the same due process of the law as citizens.

How come these liberals never quote John 10:1 ““Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.”

“You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien; for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.”

The key word is resident.

To become a resident you have to be welcomed according to the law of that land.

I wonder what they'll say about how the Israelis kicked all the people that inhabited Canaan according to the Almightys instructions.

Just remember: “What would Jesus do?” includes tipping over tables and chasing people with a whip.

The question Pew asked was "Do you think the U.S. has a responsibility to accept refugees into the country, or do you think the U.S. does NOT have a responsibility to do this?"

The answer to that question as stated is NO. The US does not have a responsibility to accept refugees. We can certainly do so, it is right and good to accept some refugees but that's not the question that was asked.

The Biblical verses given have nothing whatsoever to do with whether a sovereign nation is responsible for the citizens of different countries.

And white evangelicals are most likely to give incredible amounts of money to foreign missions programs. The largest line item in the budgets of churches I’ve attended is “Missions”. It’s better to give aid to those within the countries so the people can remain there and improve their own countries.

Beat me to it, and did a better job of it than I did.

Anyway, what does scripture say about the Hebrews allowing those peoples that managed to remain in the country after they took it over and kicked most of them out.

Jesus would tell them to stay off welfare. It corrupts the Spirit. And then he’d watch them all walk home.

It’s interesting that when the Left finds the Bible useful in matters of public policy, it’s never a violation of “the separation of church and state.”
