It's not considerate to make comments about me to another FReeper without a courtesy ping.

And your accusation against me --- that I would would 'never admit' that I pray to Mary--- is false, and not only false, but so instantly and obviously refutable that I wonder at you.

Some people, not knowing any better, assume that prayer = adoration. This is not so. Prayer defines the relationship we have within the Mystical Body of Christ: it is our spiritual connection.

All of the members of Christ are related to with each other through prayer: through the expression of our love as we are abiding together as if we were one living person: IN Christ Who is our life.

We are in Him and He is in us.

We pray constantly in the Body of Christ.

I don't at all mind telling you that.

But I make this request: please don't discuss me with others behind my back. That's making it personal. And if you allude to me,I would appreciate a courtesy ping.

The Catholic Church established by Jesus Christ has retained the Good News of Salvation and the teachings of Christ. We have God’s word that the Catholic Church will last till the end of times.

Yes, the Catholic Church has many sinners, even in its leadership. The Body of Christ (the Church) will continue to lead all that choose on the path to salvation.

Jesus told us not to follow the ways of the world, but to follow Him.

No, I read far enough.

The first sentence of the paragraph says it very clearly.

No direct or categorical and stringent proof of the dogma can be brought forward from Scripture.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07674d.htm

To "see" Mary in Genesis, or the later verses used to support the "immaculate conception", is to practice eisegesis....the reading back into scripture something that is not there.

But like I said....none of that stops Roman Catholicism from advancing this false dogma.

Thanks for the post on Ven.Fulton Sheen.

It was wonderful that Jesus on the cross gave us His Blessed Mother as our Mother and we honor her in many ways.

We pray and venerate our Blessed Mother and saints in the Eucharistic Prayer at Mass.

In communion with those whose memory we venerate,
especially the glorious ever-Virgin Mary,
Mother of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ,
† and blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
your blessed Apostles and Martyrs,

As our spiritual mother, she guides us and protects us.

Yes, the devil mocks her, but she is in Heaven trying to help us join her with her son Jesus.

The heresies you endorse and blasphemies posted so fluidly tell me He is not in such an obe, but there is ‘someone’ who is who loves a lie and enjoys murdering souls, and swells with pride when his servants assist his work.

From A PRIEST in the Catholicism religion:

Yes, the devil mocks her, but she is in Heaven trying to help us join her with her son Jesus.

A man who does not believe GOD is sufficient to bring us to salvation and needs the aid of a dead woman is not a priest in Christianity.

As our spiritual mother, she guides us and protects us.

The Christian church, though not necessarily Roman Catholicism, was given the Holy Spirit for this purpose.

16“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 NASB

26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 NASB

*********

The Roman Catholic seems to display a lack of faith in the very promises recorded in inspired Scripture.

Instead of relying upon the infallible Creator, the Roman Catholic wants to rely upon a fallible created being.

We're all supposed to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, aren't we? Don't you guide and protect your family? Don't I guide and protect mine? Don't angels guide and protect God's people?

Psalm 91:11 --”For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.“

Luke 4:10 ”For it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully.’”

God sends His angels to protect those who have committed themselves to His loving care!

Psalm 34:7 - ”The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.”

Matthew 18:10 - "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.”

Hebrews 1:14 - “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”

Exodus 23:20 - “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”

Isn't it marvelous that God works so providently throgh secondary causes --- Angels guide and proect St. Joseph, who himself guides and protects the Holy Family on the way to Egypt, etc.etc.

We don't rely on Angels and Saints --- or even parents or pastors --- *apart* from God or *in preference* to God or as *rivals* to God --- we know we are being guided by God Who graciously works with and through His servants, on every page of the Bible and on every day of our lives.

I'd do that for you. You'd do that for me. The Holy Spirit does it through us all. Can't Mary do the same?

Now, to put some context around one of the verses you cited.

Luke 4:10 ”For it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully.’”

5And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

7“Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.” 8Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”

9And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here;

10for it is written, ‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,’

11and, ‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’”

12And Jesus answered and said to him, “It is said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’” 13When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

*******

Satan, while quoting Scripture, did so out of context.

You should pay very close attention to that teaching point.

******

Isn't it marvelous that God works so providently throgh secondary causes --- Angels guide and proect St. Joseph, who himself guides and protects the Holy Family on the way to Egypt, etc.etc.

In not one of those verses you cited is Mary ever mentioned as being necessary or ever being an on-going help.

There are no admonitions to seek her for her "guidance" through prayer nor are there any promises she will guiding or protecting the believer as there are for the Spirit.

*****

We don't rely on Angels and Saints --- or even parents or pastors --- *apart* from God or *in preference* to God or as *rivals* to God --- we know we are being guided by God Who graciously works with and through His servants, on every page of the Bible and on every day of our lives.

Except in Roman Catholicism the Roman Catholic does rely upon Mary apart from God.

Indeed, there are Roman Catholic writers who speak of Mary basically running Heaven.

******

I'd do that for you. You'd do that for me. The Holy Spirit does it through us all. Can't Mary do the same?

No. Mary cannot do the same as she is not the Holy Spirit. That's the point. She's a created being.

For Mary to be able to do what the Spirit does, she'd have to have goddess like abilities. Which is what Rome as ascribed to her.

By the Power of the Holy Spirit the collected Cardinals elected Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger as Pope, who took on the name of Benedict 16.

He is not dead. He is also STILL the Pope. Bergoglio is an imposter.

It will be the mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the Church as the mystical body of Christ.

Then since in Catholic teaching the Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing, then evangelical church and all be the RCC can be excluded as being the mystical body of the anti-Christ

What Catholics must do to survive the evil day:

Which leads to a host of practices that are not what the NT church manifestly believed , even to beseeching Mary to find Christ for the world, and form Him in our hearts, thus attributing uniquely Divine attributes to the false demonic Catholic substitution for the holy, virtuous, Spirit-filled Mary of Scripture, who yet awaits the resurrection of the body, and the receiving of crowns.

In the final judgment the Mary of Scripture will be one of the witnesses testifying against those who were deceived by the lying spirit to make of the humble holy Mary of Scripture into an exalted demo-goddess.

and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Actually, Catholicism and liberal Protestantism, and cults, among others, has sadly become as the gates of Hell for multitudes.
