Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our One and Only God!
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
How Wonderful,
How Holy,
How Righteous,
and How Just and True You Are!
For You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship,
And You Alone Transcend Time and Space,
For You Alone Are The Creator of All That Is!

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
With Our Whole Soul, Mind, Heart, and Strength,
With Everything that has Your Precious Breath of Life,
We Love You!
We Thank You For You Righteous and Holy Law,
Your Perfect Precepts and Judgments,
Which, in Our Hearts,
We Know That No Human Being Could Ever Live Up To Your Holy Standard.
And THAT'S why we need a Savior!

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Yet another in the line of worthless kings of Israel (Northern Kingdom), Elah is busy getting drunk at a friend's house at the same moments his own troops are deployed in a siege. It must have been easy for Zimri to kill him since he was already unconscious! Not that Zimri was any better as a king. Yet, he was used to fulfill God's prophecy against Baasha...he killed Baasha's whole family to eliminate any contenders to the throne.

And yet, our Scriptures dutifully note that if you want to know more about this wretched individual, you can look it up in the Annals of the Kings of Israel. This is an interesting note. It shows us a number of things:

1. Even in these ancient and turbulent times, the secular authorities KEPT RECORDS. This is important to note, as the genealogy of the Messiah, the office of the Priesthood, and the succession of kings are all important to World History. Ancient Civilizations were not free-for-alls where people just went around smiting each other. There were land records, business transactions, court records, bills of sale, and personal stories, all of which Archaeologists dig up from time to time. When modern city planners tear down City Hall and put all the records on a thumb drive, they are making a big mistake.

2. The Scriptures are separate from the "Annals of the King". Earlier translations such as the KJV refer to the "Annals" as the "Chronicles of the Kings of Israel". This caused me some confusion many years ago, because I thought the Author was referring to the Biblical Books of I & II Chronicles, which follow the Book of 2 Kings. By referring to these secular books as "Annals" instead of "Chronicles", the Scriptures clear up that minor, but confusing, issue.

3. When a coin, a tablet, or a shred of parchment is unearthed bearing the name of one of these obscure Biblical Kings, it affirms and confirms that the Scriptures are accurate writings from the period described. Although such finds are not necessary for the faithful, it feels kinda good when it happens! For years people thought that the City of Troy was a myth, until the actual ruins were found. For a long time, critical scholars said that Pontius Pilate didn't exist, until a stele bearing his name and title was unearthed in Caesarea. The critics who doubt the location of Solomon's Temple or the City of David are confronted with evidence every time Israel tries to lay a water pipe.

It is what it is!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
