“...The first belivers remained Jewish...”

I’ve been around a long time and this is the first I’ve heard of this sect. I’ve known Jews who converted to Christianity and vice versa, but not an ancient tribe of Jews who worship Jesus.

Not a tribe, but the 1st century Messianic Jews who excepted Yeshua,AND continue to observe Jewish customs, having them fulfilled in Yeshua.

I don’t think he is referring to a tribe, but a group of Jewish people — the disciples of Jesus, who were ALL Jews.

Whether we like it or not, the earliest followers of Jesus were ALL Jews. In fact, without these group of Jewish men, we would not have the religion called Christianity today.

Well, the earliest Christians congregated in the synagogues, so it seems they must have been considered for a time at least to still be part of the Jewish communities they lived in, even if they were a separate sect.

They also still kept the Mosaic laws as well as Christian practices, so that was probably a big factor. Pagan converts were allowed to dispense with all but a few of those laws, and over time almost everyone in Christendom came from pagan roots, leading to the Christianity we have today.
