You’re just as off base as the folks on the other side.

The reality is that most Jews will never pick up, open, or receive guidance from the Talmud. You can attend services regularly your whole life and never hear of it.

So any obsession with Talmud as an effort to characterize Jews in general is completely wrong-headed.

This self-worship phenomenon you observe is a) not at all specific to Jews; and b) the very element that makes them something other than Jewish.

Communists pretending to be Jews are no more authentic than Christians pretending to be Jews.

Then why is the Talmud considered the highest book in Judaism, higher than even the Torah, like this passage from Erubin 21b, “My son, be more careful in the observance of the words of the Scribes than in the words of the Torah (Old Testament)”? After all, logically, the highest book in any religion would also be considered the most read and most disseminated within that religion, because it’s considered exceptionally vital to the religion’s existence.

And the existence of Kol Nidre, the Jewish equivalent of Taqiyya, leaves me with a lot of doubt there, unfortunately: http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/9443-kol-nidre/ Heck, Rabbi Tzvi Marx’s comment about there being two copies of the Talmud specifically to trick gentiles leaves me very wary.

And quite frankly, I’m a bit more trusting of Messianic Jews than I am Talmudic Jews, certainly a lot more trusting of Messianic Jews than to Communist Jews. And use common sense: Jesus forbade people from using deception, so why the heck would Jewish people “pretend” to be Jewish if they believed that Christ is the Messiah? Messianic Jews don’t even have membership towards various Christian churches, whether they be Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, or even Coptic.

Besides, I never said I was against all religious Jews, just those who use the Talmud. There are plenty of Jews who stick with the Old Testament as well without even touching the Talmud, and those Jews, I do find trustworthy. There’s also the Ethiopian Jews. Also the Karaites, who eschew with the Talmud altogether and strictly go by the Old Testament. All those examples of Jews I find trustworthy.
