The one thing that has always annoyed me about the scrubs is that I see doctors and nurses wearing them everywhere. Isnt the whole point of scrubs that they are supposed to be clean? I see doctors and nurses dropping and picking their kids up from school in the scrubs, going out to get lunch in their scrubs, driving to and from work in the scrubs. Doesnt that defeat the purpose?
Scrubs are meant to protect your clothes from body fluids. However paper gowns are usually worn when also doing procedures that would have a splash or contact risk, otherwise you would have to change scrubs between every patient.
