We women should dress modestly in church. Stop with the cleavage and short short or split skirts. I dress nicely when I go to church, not extravagant or trying to show off or anything. I go to a very conservative fundamentalist church, and some of the women wouldn’t think of wearing anything the least bit colorful, no jewelry or make-up. But I wear both, and if it offends anyone, they’ve never told me. I usually wear slacks. To me, I would think a woman in a skirt would be more attractive to men than one wearing slacks, if I judge by my husband’s feelings.
Well, there is "normal" jewelry and make-up and then there is show-off or ostentatious jewelry and make-up. I can't imagine that the understated versions would be a problem; they certainly aren't at our Latin Masses.
