A Rhode Island bishop is facing a sharp backlash after advising Catholics not to attend LGBTQ Pride Month events, claiming they don’t align with Catholic values and can be harmful to children.
“A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ ‘Pride Month’ events held in June,” Providence, R.I., Bishop Thomas Tobin tweeted on Saturday. “They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.”

Pride Month is an annual celebration in June that commemorates Stonewall, a series of riots in June 1969 that took place after New York City police raided a gay club, arrested patrons and checked their sex in bathrooms to see if they were cross-dressing. This June is the 50th anniversary of the riots, which are often regarded as a turning point for the LGBTQ rights movement. Around the country and the world, members and allies of the LGBTQ community march in June parades to celebrate the movement and the freedom to openly express sexual identity.

Is there any wonder why more people are saying they have ‘no religious preference’ these days?
Even the leaders of our faith can’t agree on how to express their stated beliefs. Those who do adhere to the scriptures are being thrown under the bus with almost no hesitation and with almost no support from the clergy.
He shouldn’t have to advise them not to attend. They should know better. Bravo to him!

Although as a Catholic I love all of God’s children....
That doesn’t mean I have to agree with their behavior any more then I would condone a friend having an extramarital affair...

It is a badge of honor like martyrdom.
For example, Senator Kamala Harris opposed a Federal Judge for nomination because he was Catholic - for being a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Considering she is one of the front runners for 2020 president candidate, she is anti-Catholic and probably anti-Christian as well.
I am sure she would condemn this bishop for his stance.

I wish he’d respond to the ones tweeting about child abuse by priests, “70% of the Church pedophiles are homosexuals.”

The guy was absolutely correct.
Christians should NOT attend any such events. They shouldn’t even attend a same-sex “marriage” ceremony ... even for their own children or grandchildren etc.

You don’t need to be religious to oppose homosexual activity. (A Seattle study of gay men suffering from shigellosis (a parasitic disease most efficiently transmitted by ingestion of feces), for example, discovered 69 percent culled their sexual partners from bathhouses.) When will we have necrophilia pride month? Muslims are not permitted to put their goat on the barbee if they have had romantic relations with it.
