however I was at the Vatican as a tourist 20 years ago. At that time they bragged they had more than 25% of the worlds art and jewels. i wonder how many Christian schools that would fund. Or how much clean water and food for the starving. Or how many missionaries it would fund. We will never know as the Roman church chooses to hoard its vast wealth rather than use it to further Christ’s kingdom. For a Lord who had no possessions or place to lay His head while on earth

That's something that has always bothered me. In my funeral career, I conducted services in various churches. In my music career, several churches have kindly allowed us to use their facilities for recitals and such.

The Catholic church is always the most opulent one in town. And one always reads about how priests take a vow of poverty.

I was not brought up Catholic, so I don't understand that. I was brought up in the Presbyterian church, and the local Presbyterian church is one that allows us to use their building for recitals. Pretty good acoustics, and the organ pipes make a nice backdrop.
