I wouldn't go so far as to label the Ring trilogy as "Christian literature"
True it has many of the attributions and morality of Christian themed books but I doubt you will find it categorized in the Christian/religion section of any library or bookstore.
Any first time reader of the Hobbit or Ring trilogy will be disappointed it has no mention of actually Christians or Jesus in it.

You have not read Tolkein’s explanation of the Ring trilogy. He explicitly designed the story to fulfill fundamental Christian motifs.
