“...Whatever happend to the camel passing thru the eye of a pin?”

Have you read the aramaic version that translates “camel” to rope?

“My pastor talks about sin and does not hesitate to tell us that any sin, even the smallest ones will prevent us from entering heaven.”

Thank the Lord for Grace! And Praise his Holy Name!

Also reminds me of the great line from A Man For All Seasons. Thomas More when having been condemned to death by false testimony from his protege Rich and about to be taken away he notices a medallion of office on Rich and asks about it and Cromwell says Rich is now an official in Wales More says

Why Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world... but for Wales?

In the case of Osteen its a Ferrari 458 which is a mid range priced Ferrari. Dear Joel there are more expensive Ferraris and other exotics which would allow you to look down on a mere 458.

If Jesus were to return now, what kind of car would he drive?

Honestly, I wouldn’t give a wooden nickel for a Ferrari. It’s a Barbie car. Now, the upcoming Corvette C8 might be a different story.

Official Thread Hijack.

fire and brimstone of a Billy Graham

I never got this from Billy Graham. Just a humble presentation of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Would You Trade Eternal Life For A Ferrari?

Does it come with a lifetime warranty and service plan?

I have heard Joel Osteen about three times in my life, for very brief periods. His slicked back hair, smile like a raccoon eating fish guts out of a wire brush (hat tip to PJ O'Rourke), and constant, relentless pushing of "God loves you and wants to make you rich" was a complete turn off.

I expect that eventually he will be caught either embezzling money, or diddling under age girls or "of age" boys. I'm not accusing him of that and don't want to see it happen to him, but given the pattern we've all seen with these TV preachers, it sure wouldn't surprise me, either.

notice how Osteen uses his eyes to capture even hypnotize his audience....you find yourself staring at his eyes and thus following his every move while he is on stage.....

I guess if I were rich I would feel pretty good about myself, but we mere mortals, we mere wage earners have to earn our self esteem in other ways....

people will flock to whoever supports their desires and lifestyle..

if they want to justify their wealth, they'll find an Osteen to follow....it makes them feel less guilty...

The preachers who are preaching for their pay checks, no matter
How much or how little they make are preachers for hire and will
Leave when the wolf comes, which means they do not believe but are
pretenders no different than the religious leaders who had our Lord
crusified.

That is why God’s people are told in revelation 18 to come out of
her( the religion system ) because it is mainly about money, power,
and prestige which leads or had lead to corruption.

Why people keep on supporting these dens of vultures I have no idea,
maybe they think they will not be judged individually, maybe they
will be hid by the church.

I don’t particularly care for Ferraris, but I don’t really want to spend eternity with people who ask assinine questions like this... so I guess I would. But then I’d probably sell the car and donate the money to charity... I don’t like being given free stuff.

For those who throw stones on the prosperity gospel I would suggest reading Christian sociologist Peter Berger’s article “You Can Do It!: Two Cheers for the Prosperity Gospel” (Search google).

Why would anybody want to live forever? Sooner or later, the boredom’d get ya. I don’t want a car, but there are some other things I’d be interested in.
