France begins debate over how to rebuild Notre Dame, starting with a contest to design the spire

But Prime Minister Édouard Philippe upended expectations with an announcement of an international competition to replace the iconic spire that collapsed into Monday’s inferno. He also raised the prospect of a 21st-century twist atop a 12th-century creation.

“This is obviously a huge challenge, a historic responsibility,” Philippe said, noting that the new design would have to be “adapted to technologies and challenges of our times.”

I wasn’t joking, actually.

I fully expect there to be minarets and crescent’s on the new Notre Dame.

Along with sex segregated seating arrangements inside.

It turns out that what was said in the Domus article was purely sarcasm, and not a serious suggestion. I guess Infowars pulled the wool over my eyes this time...

The flight 93 memorial is a straight up crescent. We’ll wait and see...
