I don’t think he existed either. He was, IMO, a political theological legend created by Arabs to compete with Judaism and Christianity. Much of its core belief system was taken from others, i.e. the 5 prayers a day from the Zoroastrians, monotheism from Judaism and Christianity, etc... and if one looks at Islam today its political roots permeate the Islamic belief system and theology is virtually non-existent. Islam resembles communism and Nazism more than Christianity or Judaism.
