The nature of man is to want to categorize things. It empowers us. God did let man name the animals.

But truly, ARE NOT ALL SINS DEADLY?

Yes.

James 2:8-11 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

Because what matters is not the seriousness of the sin as categorized by humans to justify ourselves, but the One whom the sin is committed against.

The God who said *Do not murder* also said *Do not lie*.

We consider lying to not be as serious as murder, but it's still an affront to the same God who gave ALL the commandments.

It's not what the sin is, it's Who the sin is against.

Disobeying God is disobeying God be it what we consider a big sin or a little one.

And if we are willing to disobey Him in the *little* ones, then it's not much of a stretch to disobey Him in the *big* ones.
