Yep they sure do like the rest of the media. Philippines had a lot of corruption and violence in 2008 when I was there. A local police chief had a job on the side running a robber gang robbing farmers coming home from market. It is vigilantism that busted the police chief and that is what is going on now. They won't have a police state soon as it seemed to me that most political entities were their own fiefdom.
