I haven't quite decided if Carl Lentz is in the mode of Joel Olsteen or Scientology's Tom Cruz.....probably a combination with a little of his own understanding of Celebrity Pentecostalism thrown in for good measure...... What he surely is 'selling' is his brand....and Hollywood types really, really like him as do and Ceo's in the world of fashion all of which he hangs with.. Lentz was asked if his church has a position on issues like gay marriage, he said,..... “We have a stance on love, and everything else, we have conversations.”

I guess he doesn't agree with Scripture, either:

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God remains forever. (I John 2:15-17)

You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us.
