This is all ridiculous. First, if you are supposed to remain celibate as a priest, then none of us should be aware of your sexuality, one way or another. If the Church thinks it’s OK for homosexual priests to have sex with one another, or other partners, then the whole issue of celibacy is a joke. Further, if openly homosexual priests are present throughout the priesthood, what does this do to the recruitment of new heterosexual priests? How can you ask heterosexual priests to remain celibate, and then look the other way when homosexual priests are having sexual relationships and it is OK for them?
This isn’t about loving and tolerating all people. It’s about the priesthood, and about the future of the Catholic Church.
At a time when the US Senate votes down a bill that makes it illegal to ‘abort’ babies after birth, we need spiritual leaders who are truly spiritual leaders - not a hierarchy that cares more about protecting predatory priests than protecting innocent young lives.
Part of me wonders whether some of what is happening in the Church was planned by those who know we are weaker without morality and spirituality.
When Jesus saved the prostitute, he said go and sin no more. She was still a prostitute, she was still seen as a prostitute, but she didn’t prostitute herself again - she kept the bargain to sin no more. She refused to act on impulses.
A gay can be gay all day long; just like the prostitute is a prostitute is a prostitute. Acting on it, is the sin - the deviant behavior.
And when one group is involved in deviant behavior, it begets deviant behavior in others. So yes, a gay subculture does induce other deviant behaviors.

I lived in Santa Barbara, California in the late 1970’s and all of the 1980’s.
There is a seminary in that city.....St. Anthony’s Seminary.
At the time, there was a big scandal at St. Anthony’s Seminary.
The older men who ran the seminary would have the new “recruits”....the new, young male seminarians....strip down completely naked and then the young men would have their genitals examined; they were given hernia exams by the older “men.”
As I mentioned, it was a big scandal at the time. So yes, there is homosexuality at these seminaries.

“Subculture” indicates minority. But it is becoming more obvious that homosexuals are prevalent in the priesthood. The subculture is now the celibate straight priest.
