I *hope* you *didn't* mean, "supported the corruption": because with God as my witness I have never done so. To insinuate otherwise would be a falsehood, and, in context, probably a malicious one, as well.
Wishing to think better of you, I *guess* you may mean -- well what do you mean?
If blowing the whistle on moral defection; trying to arm my few students for what's coming next; shining the light on the dark places of corruption; communicating with bishops -- including my own --- and imploring them to speak out clearly and pay up personally; exhortng my fellow Catholics to "Fear not, stand your ground, and fight"; and doing such prayer and sacrifice as I am able --- if this is what you intend to criticize --- then go ahead, because I have never done enough. As the author of Hebrews says, "In your striving against sin, you have not yet resisted unto blood."
But what will the Lord say to those who left in the heat of battle, who yielded to spiritual sloth or despondency or cynicism, and abandoned their post; who left the sheepfold when the wolves made their appearance --- do you suppose He will congratulate them?
Christ said it is a hireling who flees. I pray I may not join the hirelings, who sinks down deflated, or absconds in a funk sweat in the season of crisis.
In post 32 you said this......
“Time to build up the Church.”
If you consider Roman Catholicism as *the church* and you advocate for building it up, you’d better be careful what you are advocating *building up*.
Do you give money time or talent to your parish or the Roman church? Do you attend services in the Roman church? Then I hate to break it to you but you support them. If you give them money and the support of your attendance you are supporting the entire corrupt system. I had the same ongoing arguments with my brother in the ELCA when they went off the rails
Dont tell me your local congregation is different. Monies collected at the local level go to the hierarchy in some fashion. Not that the Vatican with all its wealth and splendor needs your money but thats another topic. Time to look hard in the mirror. If you support the Roman Church you support ALL of it.
