Let's see, why does Robert Gruss think opposing heretics and sex criminals is "evil"?

"Given in Rapid City, South Dakota, on this second day of October, the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, in the Year of Our Lord 2013. . .Most Reverend Robert D. Gruss": Sexual Misconduct Policy of the Diocese of Rapid City

"Worshippers prayed for people in all states of life and those affected by abuse. 'Everything that we face, everything that we are challenged with goes on this altar,' said the Rev. Robert Gruss, the main celebrant at the morning Mass and diocesan chancellor. . .The celebration comes at a time when diocesan officials are exploring ways to pay for sexual abuse committed decades ago by some priests. A Scott County jury awarded $1.5 million to a victim of sexual abuse on Sept. 18, shortly before the start of the annual Diocesan Appeal. In a recent letter, Franklin asked parishioners to continue their contributions to the diocesan ministries, saying these monies go for operating expenses and not to settle lawsuits. . .": "Diocese has bumpy road to the future" (2006)

"Leaders of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, are urging two bishops – Paul Swain of Sioux Falls and Robert D. Gruss of Rapid City – to 'use church bulletins, parish websites, and pulpit announcements to find others who saw, suspected or suffered child sex crimes by Fr. William Stolzman, Fr. Clarence J. Vavra, or Fr. J. Vincent Fitzgerald.' Fr. Fitzgerald was in the news last week, when a Twin Cities judge ruled that two Minnesota bishops must release his records and when Twin Cities Catholic officials re-opened their investigation into him. He is accused of abusing a boy and a girl in the late 1960s at the Tekakwitha Indian Mission in Sisseton. . .'For decades, US bishops have promised to be "open" about predator priests,' said Frank Meuers of Plymouth MN, SNAP’s Minnesota director. 'But like these South Dakota bishops, most church officials continue their patterns of recklessness, callousness and deceit. We hope Swain and Gruss will prove us wrong, act responsibly, and warn their flocks about these three priests and offer real help to their victims.'"Three MN predator priests worked in SD (2015)

"The Diocese of Rapid City had rescinded an offer to house a priest accused of child sex abuse at a priest retirement home in Piedmont after congregants and community members said they were upset that it's near a school and church. . .John Praveen, 38, a priest who formerly served with the diocese, was charged Oct. 2 with two counts of sexual contact with a child under 16 for allegedly touching a 13-year-old girl above her clothing, according to court records and statements. During an Oct. 6 hearing, his defense lawyer said if Praveen is able to post bond, Bishop Robert Gruss said the diocese would supervise his release at the Casa Maria priest retirement center, where he would be monitored and have no contact with children.": Diocese rescinds offer to house accused priest at retirement home near school (2018)
