I was raised Catholic too, but after they took away Latin I left. Loathed that pope, whoever he was. Recently decided to go back to the Church. Local cathedral is gorgeous, choir is symphony-worthy, very uplifting. Then here comes another gay scandal, particular in my city.
Actually going to Unity next Sunday with friend. All they talk about is "be nice." I have a lot of friends who go there. They're very nice. :)
good luck with that. going to church because it has a beautiful building or that the people are nice is not going to get you very far. A good fundamentalist church would give you nice people and a path to salvation. Keep searching and enjoy your travels. You are on the right path and I am only trying to help with course corrections.
You’d probably be better off staying in your present church than going to Unity, imho. As a Catholic, surely you know that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, and that no one comes to the Father, but by him. Ask your nice Unity friends (and I have no doubt that they are, indeed, nice people) if they believe that the only way to God is through Jesus, as LORD and Savior, and see what they say. The world is full of nice people, who refuse to worship Jesus as LORD, and so is Hell. If “nice” was good enough, Jesus’ sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection, was all for nothing.
