I have to agree with you. I was waiting to read something about “sin”....did he take the priests to task for not protesting NATIONWIDE about Cuomo’s latest bill in NY State? Did he implore the bishops etc., to excommunicate the likes of Cuomo, Biden, Pelosi, Kennedys and other politicians who support abortion? Or would he consider it “not my job” like Bishop Dolan did this weekend?
We’ve attended his “church” but have to say certainly not many times. We went thinking it would change but it never did. The whole thing is set up like a Hollywood film studio and music you would kill yourself to get away from. If I can’t describe a sermon I heard in church then I’m wasting my time. I can’t describe a “hearts and flowers” sermon I heard from any pastor...
The outside patio area is crowded with booths and pamphlets where you can choose classes that you need for SELF IMPROVEMENT on every subject under the sun.
That was in the ‘80’s/’90’s and never did he preach about sin. He knows his congregation is full of people like “OC Housewives” who bragged years ago about being members of Saddleback and why would he want to lose parishioners by calling attention to their sins? Have you ever heard the language those women (?) use?
He’s certainly come a long way but not one I want to participate in. When I attend church, I want to hear “fire and brimstone”.....
Jealousy is never pretty. Work on it.
