You are correct on all 3 points.

Big government money goes to churches, who “help” the illegals to get more benefits.

Bishops/Dioceses for many Christian churches own the churches and the properties. Also, they tell the local church goers, who their priest/pastor will be, and how much local money goes to the next layer, 35 to 50%.

Any kind of account can also be confiscated. For one little parish I belonged to it was 100% of their savings. The Dioscese swooped in and took it all (that was when Wuerl was Bishop). No explanation, they “needed” it. They also took all the old ledgers and books. The parish was established in 1839 and had kept all it’s old records.

I see it as the “eye of the needle” moment for the faithful. In theology we were taught the “eye of the needle” was an actual canyon which fully laden camels could not pass through. So the people would unload the camels on one end, walk the camel through, then go back and walk the cargo through and reload the camels on the other end. Some will have to “unload” their affection for all the worldly goods the church has.
